The description suggests the proposal is acceptable in principle provided the butterfly roof form is preserved and the front mansard is set back from the parapet.

The Clapton CAAC objects to the proposed mansards as it is in a hightly visible location with many long views within the CA. Mansards have been refused at this intersection unlike further down the road where views are more limited.

The Clapton CAAC had previously said a modest extension of time would be accepable provided no further extension would be sought and that it was genuinely needed. We are now not convinced it is needed, The associated development seems to be all but completed and is watertight and is regularly lit internally, suggesting it is near to beign ready for occupation. If consent is to be granted it must be on condition that the floodlighting on top of the structure is removed immediatly as it is not required and is a considerable distraction and pollutant beyond dusk.
