We object to this application. The proposed conservatory is a glazed extension of the living space and would result in a two storey full width extension which contravenes the De Beauvoir Design Guide. The proposed rear fenestration, including the roof light, is out of keeping with the original main house.
2017/1566 Land between 8 and 10 Englefield Road N1 4LN Erection of a three-storey building to provide 2 self-contained dwellings (use class C3) comprising 2 x1 bedroom flats (Raymond Okot 020 8356 8080)
We have no objection to an infill development on this land. However we feel that the new building should be set back from the buildings on either side and should match the height of number 10. We do have concerns about the open ground floor and lack of obvious structure to support the front elevation. The absence of a street level frontage makes the building look unfinished. Number 8 has three windows on the west elevation and their light and outlook will be compromised.

We object to this application. No details are given on the type of timber to be used but we think that this is an inappropriate material in this case. The applicant makes the point that they intend to retain the proposed sedum roof but the plans clearly show astro turf.

We have no objection but presumably the café will generate waste and there appears to be no provision for storage prior to collection. This property is located on a corner which is tight on space and in a sensitive area opposite the listed Shoreditch church,

We object to the proposed 6th floor roof extension which will be clearly visible in the long views south along Kingsland Road towards the City. This is a pivotal building with a strong roofscape and the extension diminishes the architectural integrity of the building. We have no objection to a five storey rear extension and the reinstatement of the staircase.

We strongly object to this application. The increase in height of the front elevation creates a building which would dominate the lower buildings to the north. The modern infill at number 96 was designed with an asymmetrical elevation which allowed the building line to step down and link with the lower buildings to the north. This proposal would be out of context with the surrounding buildings and detrimentally affect the long views within the streetscape. It would also add to the sense of enclosure at this part of Kingsland Rd. Although the buildings opposite on the west side have had floors added, they are set back quite a way from the original front elevations which results in a less oppressive feel to the street scene. The five storey rear elevation directly onto Nazrul Street is also overbearing. The internal layout at first floor has changed little, apart from the added lift shaft and three units made suitable for wheelchair access, however the entrances to these apartments look very narrow for wheelchair use. The triple set of doors and tight corridors would prohibit wheelchair access to the north side of the building.

We have no objection to the conversion of the garage and to the extension above. However we do object to the proposed full height window at the rear of the extension. We think that the first floor level window at the rear should match that of the adjacent property with a parapet to the rear facade. However we do object to the depth of the proposed rear extension at ground floor level. The bulk of the proposed extension overwhelms the original house and the neighbouring properties.
