Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

BOAT TOUR on Saturday 3 August 2013, 9.30am

Construction work is ongoing to turn the former Olympic site into  Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park , a fantastic new part of London. The park will open fully in spring 2014; however to enable people to access the park as soon as possible some areas will open in phases as construction work gradually completes.

The first area to open will be parts of the north park, whilst the south of the park including the Aquatics Centre will continue to be worked on until next year.

The London Legacy Development Corporation have offered community groups an opportunity to have a look at the ongoing transformation work in the south of the park as parts of the north park start to open.

This free boat tour is exclusively for Hackney Society members, their friends and guests. It will pass along the River Lee Navigation from Three Mills (Bow) to the southern entrance of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, taking in the sights of the Stadium and the ArcelorMittal Orbit.

The boats are fully accessible. Names of all attendees will be required by the tour operator by 19 July.

Meet

Participants must meet, at 9:30am at Three Mills Pontoon, Three Mills Lane, E3 3AF promptly for a 10am departure, returning to Three Mills at approximately 11:30pm. There will be no opportunity to disembark once the tour is underway, and photo ID will be required for all adults.

Maximum 50 people. Booking essential by Wednesday 24 July 2013 5pm. Please tell us the name of each individual attendee you book for and the age of anyone under 16. Photo ID will also be required for all adults on the day of the tour. These are the operator and LLDCs security requirements.
