The Clapton CAAC are concerned that weathering and ageing of the proposed materials may damage the intended stark design and so suggest a more subdued palette at the outset may be appropriate.

2018/1721 127 Northwold Road E5 8RL Erection of a rear dormer to the main roof; erection of an extension between the central valley of the main roof form and the rear outrigger and insertion of two roof lights to the front roof slope and two roof lights to the rear roof slope of the outrigger. The Clapton CAAC are concerned that the gardens in this part of the terrace are particularly small and so the proposed development may result in a low quality garden amenity.

The Clapton CAAC see no reason why the roof extension should not or could not be remodeled to comply with the Residential Extensions and Alterations SPD so as to be below the ridge and away from the party walls.

The Clapton CAAC would prefer a more traditional railing atop a dwarf wall, as a boundary treatment, but otherwise have no objection to the proposal.

The Clapton CAAC are concerned the height of the proposed extension may have an adverse effect on the amenity of the neighbours.
