2023/0377 6a Middleton Road, E8 4BL Installation of an air source heat pump in the front garden, less than a meter from the property boundaries Householder Planning (Thomas Russell)

We object to this application which lacks detail. The applicant presents no reason why the heat pump cannot be sited to the rear of the house. We consider the use of the front garden for this purpose to be inappropriate.

 

2023/0973 53 Northchurch Road, N1 4EE Listed building consent for the installation of Photovoltaic panels on the rear and side roofslopes. (In association with Householder planning application 2023/0971) Listed Building Consent (James Clark)

We are not persuaded that the photovoltaic panels, which would sit above the proposed replacement composite slates, will not be visible from Northchurch Road. We therefore consider that the harm to the streetscape and the listed buildings will outweigh the benefit of the electricity generation. We think that the flat roof of the rear extension should be employed for this purpose even though it may not accommodate as many panels as required to generate sufficient electricity to balance the household's consumption.

We have no objection in principle to the replacement windows. We are however concerned about the proportions of window WO3. We wonder why Heritage 14mm windows are not to be installed on the rear façade of the property as the Conservation Area is surely not restricted to the front elevation? We would also point out that the six roads referred to in the Design and Access statements are aligned E-W and not N-S.

We have no objection to this application. However we do have a concern about the potential noise from the commercial waste removal, which will be enhanced by the enclosed nature of the walkway, and its effect on the adjacent houses.

We object to this application because of the lack of specific materials information with regard to the replacement glass blocks.

We have no objection to this application but we would like to see modulation in the elevation so that it matches that of No 27, the villa's pair, rather than No 23. It would have been helpful if the other half of the semidetatched pair had been shown in the drawing.

 

2023/0871 Flat A, 48 Englefield Road, N1 4HA Erection of side extension, alterations to paving on the existing rear terrace on the ground floor, new green roof on existing rear extension and new metal balustrade, metal external staircase to the garden, and minor alterations to the rear, side, and front elevation including window replacments. We strongly object to this application which provides no details of the proposed replacement windows. The replacement of the original window at upper ground floor level with enlarged French doors is out of keeping with the style and proportions of the existing building. We find that the side extension fails to enhance the front facade of the house.

We regret that the Planning Inspector allowed the appeal for a mansard roof at No 58 ( not No 62 as the drawings indicate). We query the design and purpose of the recessed solid pane on the rear roof elevation.

 

2023/0875 Flat A, 48 Englefield Road, N1 4HA Erection of single storey outbuilding. Full Planning Permission (Danny Huber)

There are no details of the proposed cladding and the location of the outbuilding so close to the western boundary of the garden precludes access and maintenance. We ask that a condition is imposed to prevent use of the outbuilding as a separate dwelling.
