We have no objections to the proposals.

We have no objection to the proposal, but make the following comment:-

  • Modern materials or painted render should be used for the front elevation.

 

2016/3801 228 Stoke Newington High Street LONDON N16 7HU Erection of extensions at first and second floor level, fronting onto Stoke Newington High Street, alterations to the rear facade to include re-configured staircase. Works are to provide 1 additional flat at second floor level and enlarge the existing flat at first floor level. (Louise Smith 0208 356 8061)

We object to the proposals for the following reason:-

  • The design is poor and as such is not appropriate for such an important site in the Conservation Area.

 

2016/3154 174 Stoke Newington Church Street, N16 0JL Erection of single-storey rear extension at first floor level; erection of mansard-style extension at roof level to create new second floor level (with raised parapet to rear and dormers); increase layout of 1-bed flat at first floor level to 2-bed flat; new 1-bed flat at second floor/roof level; installation of new windows at first floor level to front and rear elevations; apply render to brickwork on front elevation at first floor level (Tim Wild 0208 356 8253)

We have no objection to the proposals, but make the following comment:-

  • The drawings should show that the front mansard is sloped at a maximum of 70deg to the horizontal.

We have no objections to the proposal, but make the following comment:-

  • A condition should be attached that there must be no illuminated signage.

We object to the proposal for the following reason:-

  • An internally illuminated sign of such a size will adversely affect the setting of the Conservation Area.

  • It should be checked whether the Study is intended to be a 2nd bedroom and if so whether the daylighting is adequate.
