Raising the Standard (2003-05)
A project funded by the Community Fund that allowed us to appoint a Director and carry out further fundraising to secure future projects.
Raising the Standard, funded by The Community Fund, has enabled the appointment of a Director to co-ordinate and direct the work of the Society.
The Director was in post from 2003-2005 and improved the quality of the society's service to the people of Hackney and increased the contribution to both the policy-making and physical regeneration agenda in the borough.
The Society is now much better equipped to deal with its increasing work load as the IT systems have been overhauled and networked. In addition, the Society has had success with including volunteers in its projects and day-to-day operations.
The membership of the society has increased and major consultations on the London 2012 Olympic Bid and the future of Dalston (enabling community consultation on the local development framework) have taken place.
Funding for this project has now stopped and the volunteer management committee are carrying out these duties with reduced funding.
