2019/3266 19-29 Balls Pond Road N1 4BY Installation of 4 x fascia signs, 4 x internally illuminated fascia signs and 1 x internally illuminated projecting sign (Danny Huber 020 8356 1453)
No objection
2019/3215 Duke Of Wellington 119 Balls Pond Road N1 4BL Erection of a new awning to side of public house (Raymond Okot 020 8356 8080)
No objection
2019/3114 59 Buckingham Road N1 4JG Replacement of the rear windows at ground floor level and the enclosure of a lean to on the East elevation to form a utility area. Replacement of the conservatory roof at ground floor level. Addition of a side window on the East elevation at ground floor level. (Raymond Okot 020 8356 8080)
We have no objection to this application. However we should like to point out that the applicant is incorrect in believing that their property is not in a Conservation Area nor under an Article 4 Direction. We think that there should have been a proper Design and Access statement.
2019/3123 New City College Hackney Campus Falkirk Street N1 6HQ Installation of 1 x fascia sign, 1 x awning sign, 1 x projecting signs, 1 x balustrade sign, 1x internally illuminated menu box, 3 x illuminated window signs and 1 x window sign (Danny Huber 020 8356 1453)
We object to the size and lack of elegance of the the lettering in the first floor window. Otherwise we have no objections.
2019/2512 51 Hackney Road E2 7NX Change of use from Mini cab to restaurant (use class A3) and external ducting to rear elevation. Hours of opening Monday -Friday11:00 am -3:30am following day and Saturday-Sunday 11:00am-05:00am following day. (Micheal Garvey 020 8356 8053)
This seems a lot of effort to go to for eight covers (proposed ground floor plan) and the opening hours are excessive. The proposed extract vent would require suitable accoustic attenuation as it is very close to the windows of the flats on the upper floors.
2019/3339 305 Kingsland Road E8 4EG Installation of one internally illuminated fascia sign and one internally illuminated projecting sign. (Alix Hauser 020 8356 6377)
No objection
2019/3117 325 Kingsland Road E8 4DL Erection of a mansard roof extension (Raymond Okot 020 8356 8080)
We have no objection in principle but we would like the two windows in the mansard at the rear to be of equal size. It would be nice if the applicant would take the opportunity of the building work to replace the uPVC windows in the front elevation with timber sashed windows to comply with guidance for windows in the Conservation Area.
2019/2761 482 Kingsland Road E8 4AE Erection of an aluminium framed canopy to the rear garden providing covered seating for customers (Danny Huber 020 8356 1453)
We are concerned about the ability of the party wall to support the proposed pergola. The extension of the restaurant to the rear garden will greatly increase the noise level and affect the amenity of the residential properties on the upper floors. We ask whether with the proposed increase in number of diners teh means of escape is adequate.
2019/2674 495 Kingsland Road E8 4AU Replacement of windows with UVPC windows and new door to first floor front and new front balustrade (Micheal Garvey 020 8356 8053)
We object to this application. The property may not have had original windows but they were the original window openings. These should be re-instated with timber sashed windows to match those at 493 Kingsland Road. The doors and glazing at number 497 are totally out of keeping with the Conservation Area as are the railings and uPVC windows are not acceptable.
2019/3164 121 Mortimer Road N1 4JY Variation of conditions 1 (Boundary wall) and 4 (materials) attached to planning permission 2014/2605 granted on 21/11/2014 (Raymond Okot 020 8356 8080)
We are very concerned that the applicant has completely disregarded the conditions of their planning consent and built according to their original plans. However we have no particular objection to the wall as built. There are a number of garden walls on corner houses in the Conservation Area which are of similar or greater height. We do object to the current external state of the building. All properties in the local area which are rendered have a finishing coat of paint and this property should be the same. We are also very concerned that there is no mention of the roof. The consented application stated that the roof would be rebuilt to match the original. A later application to construct a modern pitched roof was refused and there has been no agreement for the current flat roof to which we strongly object.
2019/2852 Rear of 30-36 Stamford Road N1 4JL Erection of a four storey building for the provision of a motorbike repair shop and showroom (Sui Generis) at ground floor level with 7 residential flats (use class C3) above. (Nick Bovaird 0208 356 8291)
We are concerned that the residents of the flats in the proposed development will have to share the entrance way with the motorbike workshop.
