We object to the proposed dark brick, which we feel would be overbearing, and rather 1980's in style. We also feel that the original proposal was much more attractive in elevation: that the design of both the fenestration and the roofline was more cohesive. The revised scheme has become much more bulky. We also object to the large curved vent on the roof, which we feel should be more unobtrusive.

We have no objection to the proposed single storey rear extension to the house. We do however object to this application on the basis of both footprint and elevation of the proposed larger garden studio. It results in a building which is both too large and much too tall. The bulky building will sit uncomfortably against No. 46 Ufton Road. We feel that this adversely affects the setting of a Listed Building, and is not enhancing the streetscape of the Conservation Area.

We object to this application. This is a very tightly designed, uniform development, and this proposal does not blend in well. The proposed extension looks a little mean: the head of the glazing to the extension should be higher, to align to the head of the glazing of the main building. The pitch of the roof of the proposed extension should also be at the same angle as that of the main roof. We also feel that the rear elevation of the proposed extension should be set back slightly from the main elevation, in order to be subservient, and should not be angled. The drawings are very poor, and appear inconsistent amongst themselves, presenting a confused proposal.

We commend the addition of a path along the canal joining the two courtyard areas, but we object on the basis that the building itself does not in any way respect the local character of the area. It has lost any of the sense of intimacy of the current area of small studios, and should actually be part of this complex rather than rising high out of it. We feel that it should be a maximum of three storeys tall, and set back to allow for planting.

We have no objection to this application but would comment as follows: on the illustration of the proposed railing finial, the measurement is given as 15mm: presumably this should be 15 cm. We also feel that there should be a back stay behind the railings where they meet the gate, and if necessary in the middle of the run of railings. We would also note that there is no detail with regard to the thickness or spacing of the railings.

We feel that the almost full length windows of the proposed first floor rear extension are completely out of keeping with the style of these houses, and will encourage use of the roof of the ground floor extension as a roof terrace. This would result in considerable overlooking into the adjoining properties. We would note also that there was no Design and Access Statement.

We object to the proposed single storey infill extension at the rear, which is turning the ground floor extension into one of the full width of the house. We feel that this excessive, as the house has already been considerably extended (more than the size of the original footprint), and the proposed extension appears to produce a space that is not of great use.
