Childhood memories
Lessept Saunders, who was a hospital orderly at St Leonard's, left home in Jamaica during the 1950s at the age of sixteen to look for work.
TLC at St Leonard's
After retiring from his work as an orderly, Lessept maintained links with St Leonard's as a volunteer for TLC.
The wrong trousers
In the 50s and 60s it was mandatory to wear a formal uniform. On a visit to Jamaica, wearing the trousers, he found himself attracting unwelcome attention from Rastafarians who thought he was a policeman.
