Janet has lived in Hackney for 40 years and has a background in education and international development. She is also the founder of Hackney History Festival.

Gordon Shrigley has worked as a local architect for 25 years and has designed several buildings in East London. He was also a member of the Hackney Design Review Panel and taught an MA architecture design studio at Westminster School of Architecture and has published several books on the theory and practice of architecture. A selection of his architectural drawings are also held at the Staatsgalerie Museum, Stuttgart and the Museum of Modern Art, Saint-Étienne.
