We are concerned that existing features such as skirting boards and floor boards will disappear during these works. We ask the Conservation Officer to ensure that, if original, they are retained and that the marble fireplace will not be compromised by the shower cubicle. No objection to the soil vent pipe.

No objection, but it would be nice if some thought could be given to replacement planting to soften the hard external structure.

No objection. However we hope that if any existing original features are removed they will be retained and re-used.

We object to this application, the proposed window is not in keeping with the style of the house.

 

2019/1042 Railway Arch 377 Geffrye Street E2 8HZ Variation of condition 2 (Approved plans) and 5 (staff numbers) of planning permission ref 2018/1392 dated 04/07/2018 for conversion of four of the Railway Arches (377, 379, 380 and 384) currently being used as a mixture of B1/B2 office use and B8 (storage and distribution) to form part of an existing photographic and imaging studio (B1/B2) located at arches 378, 381, 382 and 383 Geffrye Street. Redevelopment of the frontages of arches 377, 379, 380, 381, 383 and 384 to provide minor external alterations including the re-location of the main entrance to the existing photographic and imaging studio, inclusion of new fire doors, ventilation louvres, (to match existing) and provide new refuse and bike storage area. The effect of the amendment would be alterations to the front fenestration of the railway arches and increaed staff capacity to 200. (Louise Smith 0208 356 8061)

No objection in principle but the proposed extension should be built in yellow - brown bricks to be sympathetic to the original house.

 

2019/1058 501 - 505 Kingsland Road E8 4AU Installation of 1 no. roof mounted fan condensing unit and timber visual screen at 1st floor level above ground floor commercial unit. (Louise Smith 0208 356 8061)

We object to this application on two counts. The hit and miss timber surround will be visible above the shopfront fascia and from inside the residential units. Secondly the unit will generate noise which is likely to disturb the residents.

 

2019/1243 1 Southgate Grove N1 5BT Replacement of existing front timber fence, wrought iron gate and brick pier with new brick wall and brick pier, wrought iron fence and wrought iron gate (Danny Huber 020 8356 1453)

We object to this application. Although the proposed railings are relatively common in Southgate Road, they are not typical of the Conservation Area. The normal style is a lower brick wall or concrete footings with coping stone and longer railings. The earlier two courses of brickwork can be seen in the photograph of the existing boundary wall. The central support should be of traditional design, see the De Beauvoir Design Guide.

We have no objection in principle but we would like to see full height glazing on either side of the central pier on the rear elevation.
