We object to this application, the proposal will have a detrimental effect on the building as a whole and will be very visible from the canal walk.

 

2023/0519 Museum Of The Home, 136 Kingsland Road, E2 8EA Renewal of internal finishes and remodelling of services within two existing education rooms for conversion into a flexible temporary exhibition space; creation of two new internal door openings and upgrading of two existing door openings; two external rainwater pipes and replacement of gutter; new drainage run and installation of two rainwater harvesting butts; replacement of two single external glazed doors with double glazed doors; addition of two external louvres; re-landscaping of sloped bank to create new tiered garden; renewal of external light fittings; addition of two external steel gates. We object to the uPVC door. A more appropriate format would be a six panelled wooden door with a glass fan light.

We object to the proposed mansard roof extension which would set a precedent for the adjoining properties. We are also concerned about the effect on daylight levels for the original house and its neighbours on Kingsland Road and the property behind on Glebe Road.

We have no objection provided that the equipment in the proposed new location has no effect on the neighbouring property.

 

2023/0365 Base Pizza, 460 Kingsland Road, E8 4AE Extension of existing basement (sui generis) and subdivision of existing property into 3x takeaway restaurants (sui generis) and 3 x shops (use class E). We think that this is a ludicrous proposal and we strongly object.

We have no objection to this application but we regret that the applicant is not replacing the uPVC doors with white painted timber doors which would be more appropriate in the Conservation Area.

We have no objection in principle but we ask that the specification of the glass with regards to its obscurity be provided.

We are concerned at the lack of detail in this application. No dimensions are provided and non-integral glazing bars should have no place in the Conservation Area.

We don't object to the proposed extension but we do object to the design of the window. We would like to see a window as witnessed on adjacent houses.

We do not object to the proposed extension but we do object to the size and style of the lantern roof light. We should prefer to see a single sheet inclined roof light which is smaller in scale. We also object to the roof light on the main house because of its relation to the chimney and the detailing to the return roof. Furthermore it will be visible in the long views from the Square. We also object to the fact that the kitchen wall oversales the rear of number 10 which has a detrimental effect on the existing facade.

We object to the application. The applicant has not demonstrated the effect on the surrounding listed buildings of reducing the wall height.

 

2023/0638 7 Enfield Road, N1 5EN Installation of a decking area and metal railing to the frontage of existing café/restaurant to form an outdoor dining area- retrospective Full Planning Permission (Micheal Garvey)

We are disappointed that this unattractive addition has been erected as part of the café. We are concerned about the various changes of level which constitute a serious trip hazard and pose accessibility issues.

We don't object to this application but we have serious concerns that the works so far are not in accordance with the approved plans. The boundary wall with Ufton Road has been demolished despite an amendment to the original application to not simply demolish but repair in sections as necessary.
