Planning Applications for Stoke Newington CAAC Monday 9 October 2017

2017/3046 120 Stoke Newington High Street N16 7NY New shopfront with internally illuminated signage and replacement of existing front door and windows with frameless doors and windows. (Sissi Yang 02083561352)

There is a lack of adequate information to assess this application. We object to the internally illuminated fascia. Sliding doors in shopfronts are not appropriate.

2017/3055 120 Stoke Newington High Street N16 7NY Change of use from A1 to hair dresser and tanning salon (Sissi Yang 02083561352)

We have no objection.

2017/3534 120 Stoke Newington High Street N16 7NY Display of 2 no. internally illuminated projecting hanging sign at ground floor level. 1 sign (0.5m x 3.9m x 0.05m) 2.5m from ground floor level; 1 sign (1.15m x 5.3m x 0.05m) 3m from ground floor level. Shopfront alteration to replace existing door and windows with frameless glass windows and doors (Sissi Yang 02083561352)

We note that the planning application description does not match the applicant's description. We object to the internally illuminated projcting signs and fascia.

2017/3810 Footway adjacent to 108 Stoke Newington High Street N16 7NY Erection of electric vehicle rapid charging point and feeder pillar and replacement of existing parking space by a charging bay. (Nick Bovaird 0208 356 8291)

There is already too much clutter on this pavement. The chosen parking position is not suitable as it could cause traffic congestiion - a side street position would be more suitable.

2017/3814 131 Dynevor Road N16 0DA New single storey ground floor rear extension and 2x rear first floor side windows. (Tom Watts 020 8356 1867)

We have no objections.

2017/3850 2 High House Mews Stoke Newington Church Street N16 0EN Proposed single storey rear/side extension. (Tom Watts 020 8356 1867)

We have no objections.

2017/3588 246 Albion Road N16 9JP Excavation of basement and rear lightwell; erection of mansard roof; erection of part single-storey, part two-storey rear extension at basement and ground floor level; erection of single storey side extension at second floor level; erection of single storey outbuilding; landscaping and elevational changes to include new fenestration and new front boundary wall, to facilitate the conversion of an HMO (Sui Generis) to a single family dwelling (Use Class C3). (Nick Bovaird 0208 356 8291)

We have no objections to the roof extension. The large 2-storey rear extension is overdevelopment of the site.

2017/3291 193-201 Stoke Newington High Street N16 0LH Erection of two storey rear extension over first and second floor levels and alterations to the shopfront and facade to facilitate the conversion and reconfiguration of the existing building from providing 3No. retail units at ground floor level and 10No. self-contained residential units above to provide 1No. retail unit at ground floor level and 8No. self-contained residential units above; erection of part one and a half, part two, part three storey building to provide 6No. self-contained residential units and 1No. B1 Use Class office; extension of existing basement; and associated external works and the provision of refuse/recycling storage, bicycle storage and private amenity space For the purposes of consultation only, the existing residential accommodation comprises 8No. one bed flats and 2No. two bed flats. The proposed accommodation comprises 9No. one bed flats, 3No. two bed flats, and 2No. three bed flats. (Catherine Slade 020 8356 8056)

In principle, we have no objections to the shopfront alterations, however the case for amalgamation is not convincingly made in the application, and should be resisted. There might be a case made for amalgamation into 2 x double fronted units, but it needs to be made out. We do not object to the proposed residential building but feel a better design could be achieved for the rear elevation.
