Whilst the Clapton CAAC has no objection to the previous iteration of this scheme (2018/3297), we do object to the side-roof extension which disrupts the established rhythm of pairs of hipped roofs.

This scheme has all the hallmarks of a poor-quality self-contained dwelling and little to prevent such a use occurring. To safeguard that eventuality the Clapton CAAC objects.

 

2018/3897 109 Evering Road N16 7SL Replacement of existing windows on front and rear elevations and rear door with new slimline double glazed painted softwood sliding sash windows and timber flush casements and rear door. (Danny Huber 020 8356 1453)

The Clapton CAAC has no objection to the proposal.

 

2018/3712 16 Northwold Road N16 7HR Signage advertising the new Tower Theatre at Sunstone House, including 1 nr. fascia sign, and 1 nr. hanging banner sign, 1 nr. hanging sign, all set into existing signage locations and fixed to existing metalwork established by the previous owner of the building. 2018/4011 Former St John's Ambulance HQ Office Land lying on the south side of Mildenhall Road E5 0RU Erection of a 4 storey building with basement level to accommodate 9No. residential flats (3 x 1 bed, 3 x 2 bed, and 2 x 3 bed units) with associated cycle storage, refuse storage, and landscaping. The Millfields Road elevation overs an improvement over the previously submitted scheme and is more successful than the Mildenhall Road elevation, but ultimately the scheme fails to mediate between the existing terrace and the recent building on the apex of the roads (which we note is incorrectly represented in 3D drawings and elevations). The cumulative effect of this proposal and the apex building results in an overbearing addition to the terrace which fails to integrate or respect its scale.

The Clapton CAAC objects to the proposal. The rear extension is overbearing and not subservient to the host building and the number of front rooflights is excessive and contrary to guidance.
