The Hackney Society has campaigned to protect many local buildings of historic and/or architectural interest over the years. Here are some of the highlights.

Local Plaque Scheme
To commemorate buildings, places, events and people
Action for Hackney Heritage (2002-04)
A community based project with a variety of outputs aimed at encouraging local people to get involved in recording and conserving their local historical environment.
Community planning campaign
October 2009-2010
Doing it for Ourselves (2000-02)
Assisted local groups in developing community-led environmental improvement projects
Raising the Standard (2003-05)
A project funded by the Community Fund that allowed us to appoint a Director and carry out further fundraising to secure future projects.
